Milk Revenue Model

The Cargill Animal Nutrition Dairy Focus Milk Revenue Model can be used to determine the value of nutritional and management changes in the herd. It is simple and quick to use. Just enter basic information about the herd and the way it is being fed. Then enter the milk production change and the feed cost change associated with herd changes. That's it. The Milk Revenue Model will then calculate comparisons between the base herd and the new scenarios you are evaluating. Run "what-if" scenarios by changing input values to see how sensitive economic results are to various inputs.

Outputs of the model include:

  • Milk Income and Feed Costs on a per cow, per cwt, and total basis
  • Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC)
  • Marginal Milk Value
  • Marginal Milk % of Total Milk Value
  • Breakeven Ration Cost Change
  • Breakeven Milk Production Change
  • Return On Investment (ROI)
