Transition Cow Model
Designed specifically to meet the nutritional needs of cows three weeks prior to and three weeks after calving, the Transition Cow Model takes into account the whole animal. The comprehensive nutritional program considers the rumen, small intestine, lymph system, blood, bone, muscle, adipose tissue, udder, calf, and most importantly, the liver. This whole system approach means complete nutrition for a healthier, more productive transition period. Model components include:
Ingredient Evaluation — accurate nutrient profiles, supplier differences
Animal Data — intake, production, weight gain, percentage of milk fat, milk true protein percentage, BCS data
Physical Nutrition — grain and forage particle sizes, steam-flaked grain density, corn silage kernel hardness
Performance — amino acid targets, ADG targets, production group lead factors
Basic Nutrition — patented amino acid system, nutrient requirements for starch and sugar, digestible NDF
