Feed Ingredient and Nutrient Directory

Cargill’s Feed Ingredient and Nutrient Directory (FIND) is an excellent tool for ingredient quality control, feed manufacturing and feeding guidelines.

The comprehensive, searchable reference defines all ingredients used in the feed industry along with their respective nutrients. Each entry contains information on processing, purchasing specifications, receiving guidelines, handling characteristics, and an explanation of how that ingredient is used in the formulation system. The entry is cross-referenced to related ingredients and may include species-specific comments.

Feed Manufacture

Cargill employs more than 170 feed manufacturing plants worldwide. Each plays a key role in getting the right feed to your operation, on-time. That’s why we designed programs to better manage the complex process of securing inbound ingredients, manufacturing and outbound scheduling.

Our plant managers use standard procedures to check both physical and nutritional quality of feeds. They use tools like Model Mill™, which calculates manufacturing costs based on engineering limitations and product mix expectations. And Logistics Real-Time ensures the right ingredients arrive at the right time. Procedures and tools complement each other so you can count on the right food, at the best cost, on-time.

Shadow Feed

Shadow Feed is a baseline nutritional profile for all poultry species, classes and production types. It outlines energy, amino acid and phosphorus requirements as well as ingredient constraints.

Because it’s built into our feed formulation system, Shadow Feed sets the stage for the nutritional and physical quality you can rely on with Cargill feeds. We use it to develop new feeds to address market segments, performance expectations, environments and genetics. And, we use it as a reference when designing or modifying feeding programs to meet growth or egg production targets.
