Biosecurity Programs

In the event of episodic or contagious diseases you want your birds to be protected. A strong, functional, easily managed biosecurity program can prevent disease from taking hold, and it can help you diagnose potential problems before they get out of control. External symptoms affecting the whole bird or a single part can alert you to an issue that needs immediate attention. We offer three levels of biosecurity programs aimed at reducing or eliminating losses from catastrophic and erosive infections on commercial farms, cooperatives and integrated operations.

  • Conceptual biosecurity (primary)
  • Structural biosecurity (secondary)
  • Operational biosecurity (tertiary)

Drug Shuttle and Rotation Program

Coccidia is still a major factor in poultry production. While anticoccidial drugs can prevent occurrences, over time coccidia become resistant to the drugs. Our drug shuttle and rotation program works within current regulations and guidelines to combine drugs by:

  • characteristics: chemical or ionophore
  • availability in the market
  • compatibility with antibiotics
  • product prices
  • seasonal needs
  • geographic occurrence of coccidiosis
  • required withdrawal times

Vaccination

Vaccination improves the immunity of birds and helps to control diseases. You’ll want to identify a suitable vaccination program, select effective vaccines and implement efficient vaccination methods. With our global experience we can advise you about programs that best complement your operation, taking into account:

  • bird type: breeder, broiler, layer
  • age of bird
  • common diseases in the area
  • management style: all-in, all-out, multiple ages
  • local regulations
