History
Across the decades, Cargill has remained true to the vision of founder W.W. Cargill: help farmers prosper, connect markets and bring consumers products they desire. We also have strived to help those on the front lines of food production through the expertise we’ve accumulated over the past 160-plus years and counting.
As we’ve pursued new opportunities, we have always done business responsibly and in a way that makes us proud. It’s what unites us and drives us to find ways to do things better each day, so we can sustainably nourish the world well into the future.
We’ve had the good fortune to grow from a small grain trade to a global presence, building expertise along the way. Many people hand a hand in our success. Now, customers are helping us write the next chapters. The best is yet to come.
See how we arrived to today, starting from the year 1865.
